Vermont Technical College - Associates in Applied Science Degree - Diesel Power Technology

The Diesel Power Technology program originated in response to an increasing need for skilled diesel service technicians for the growing agricultural industry in Addison County. As a result of polling among diesel-powered equipment users in western Vermont, the original agricultural equipment service focus was broadened to include elements of heavy-truck and earthmoving equipment service. The Vermont Department of Education and Training estimates a need for 34 new heavy-duty service technicians annually. Service providers indicated a continuing need for highly trained technicians to service the increasing fleet of heavy trucks and earthmoving equipment.
