Information Technology

The Fast Forward program in Information Technology was developed by technical centers and the Community College of Vermont and aligned with industry standards in the computer field. Depending on the technical center program, students who enroll in Information Technology courses at participating technical centers may be eligible for up to 16 credits in Cisco Networking and the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) credential, 8 credits in PC Hardware and Operating Systems and the CompTIA A+ (Core Hardware and Operating System Technologies) certification, 6 credits in Java Programming or 6 credits in Web Site Design and Flash Animation. There is no cost for the program, although there are testing fees for students who sit for national exams required for an industry recognized credential. Students should meet with their high school guidance counselor or local technical center guidance department to enroll in the program. To receive college credit, students must meet the eligibility requirements of the college.

The associate degree can be a stepping stone to further studies or an end in itself. Either way, its value can't be beat in terms of earning power, skill-building, and confidence-boosting. Our degree programs provide the knowledge you need for employment or further study at the bachelor's level.

At CCV, you can pursue a degree at your own pace, on your own schedule. Choose one of our many associate degree programs or if you prefer, design your own concentration using a combination of CCV, transfer, and assessed credit. You can enroll either full or part-time for most CCV degree programs. Either way, you are eligible for financial aid counseling, academic advising, and all CCV services.
